How It Works
With ION, data can be transferred to a local drive or to your IT Professional's Data Center. During the backup process notification messages are sent to the Universe Point Monitoring Center. These messages contain information about backup status and errors. The notifications are passed along to the end-user or IT Professional, allowing for a pro-active approach to resolving backup issues.

Multi-Site Backup

ION
provides Multi-Site backup allowing you to store your data on the local network and at the Data Center of your IT Professional. It's yet another feature that ION provides so that you can lessen the amount of time spent worrying about the backup.

Using our Multi-Site feature allows you to keep your important files with people you trust. Also, since the data resides at both your location and with your IT Professional, full recoverys can be made with greater speed and reliability.

Monitoring

Maintaining an off-site storage business is a time consuming and costly process. The time and money required often acts as a barrier to entry for smaller companies that try to get into the data storage business. The resources necessary to consistently track errors, review backup activity and manage clients have left the concept of profitable data storage to only the largest companies.

Our Monitoring Service changes that. Instead of devoting time and staff to the tedious monitoring of backup activity, you can simply review the reports created by our monitoring service and assure that your clients’ backup is running correctly. Instead of hours, reviewing the status of your customers can take minutes.

Web Reports - Our custom web reporting system provides a wide variety of statistics on every station and backup job in your system, including errors, backup success rates and inactivity reports. The Monitoring Dashboard provides an at-a-glance status report of all of your backup events. Issues can be quickly identified and dealt with through this single interface.

Email Reports - The email reporting system can provide both "per license" and "global" email reports on backup activity, errors, and station activity. Emails are highly customizable and linked to web reports that provide comprehensive explanations of every message. Options are available to receive emails after any job is run, in the event of an error, or even if a station has not run a backup for a predetermined amount of time.

Phone Alerts - Phone alerts are the last line of defense and can be set up to alert up to three individuals in case of a serious concern. Phone alerts are configured globally and can be set to inform you of errors or inactivity on any and all stations. These phone calls come from a trained monitoring technician and will be able to inform you of any situations needing your immediate attention.
